I love the way you've displayed this set. So many almost abstract landscapes, bold sweeps of colour and shape, so pleasing to the eye, then suddenly that realistic one in the middle was such a surprise it almost made me laugh. I felt a sense of elation as though I had just had a cataract operation and suddenly my bandages were removed! The contrast was delightful. Then you seemed to say, "I could have painted like this, but by painting like this I have more to say. Less =more. You could have had a landscape but now you have my comments on the landscape instead."
I did not really plan the sequence of the paintings as I posted them, but your comment is perfectly wright concerning the sequence in which I paint. Yes, I could do perfectly realistic landscapes and sometimes I indulge, but then nobody, including me, can dream his/her own projections. It is finished, limited, closed. Yes, I do try "less=more". Thank you for your comment, it is very rewarding to see the actual impact of my paintings.
